We're delighted to announce that we've selected Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) and Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) as our chosen charities and will be organising various fundraising events.
In 2018, CAAT flew 1,105 missions. Having been established in 1982, CAAT was the first air ambulance in the UK and the Trust has since grown considerably; it's currently fundraising to add a new aircraft to its fleet. DAAT assisted 1,102 patients in 2018 and was established in 1992. It now runs two aircraft, which since the beginning of the year operate until 2am every day.
As the aircraft carry equipment that is not always available on land ambulances, the doctors and paramedics are able to offer enhanced clinical care to patients.
Stephanie Bray, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust, commented: "We are thrilled that RGB is supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance. As a charity, we rely on the support of local businesses and the community in Cornwall to keep the helicopter flying. Every donation really makes a huge difference, so thank you to RGB for supporting, and we look forward to working with the team in the coming year."
Tracy Owen, Fundraising Manager at Devon Air Ambulance Trust, added: "We would like to thank RGB for choosing to support Devon Air Ambulance, and we're looking forward to working with them and their staff. Support from businesses just like RGB really does make a massive difference in helping to save and improve the lives of our patients."
Due to the nature of construction sites, it's sometimes difficult for land ambulances to reach accidents easily, so in our industry air ambulances can be vital. CAAT ad DAAT rely on donations and fundraising, and we're delighted to have chosen them as our supported charities and do our bit to help keep them flying.
