Community Fund winners 2021-2022
Lanivet Community Centre
Businesses affected by Covid-19 – winner 1
“Our community centre has become vital for so many people and, after having to be closed for long-periods of the past 18 months, it’s wonderful to start seeing people through the doors again. The coffee shop is not just going to be a great addition to the centre, but also for the village and wider region, and we’re so grateful for the generous donation from RGB Building Supplies. In particular, we’d like to thank Meena Madhvani who uses the community centre and put us forward for the Surprise Supplies initiative without even mentioning it to us, and of course a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us – the support is greatly appreciated.”
The Pine Centre
Businesses affected by Covid-19 – winner 2
“Like many other businesses in the town, the pandemic meant we had to put some of our plans on hold, but the generous donation by RGB means we can get started with the new display and be able to offer our customers something fresh. We opened the shop 26 years ago this year and we have developed a loyal customer base, and we’d like to thank them and everyone who voted for us.”
Made-Well
Local Heroes – winner 1
"“We’re thrilled to have been voted as a Surprise Supplies winner. We are always looking at ways we can enhance our facilities for the benefit of our users, so thank you to RGB for the fantastic donation – it will really help us to develop our new woodworking area. Also, a massive thank you to everyone in the community who supported us by voting; we are extremely grateful.”
Studio 4 Dance
Local Heroes – winner 2
“This new creative space will create so many further accessible opportunities for young people and families in our community. It will be a place to call home, a safe space for young people and our community and a place for us to dream. With our own space the opportunities are endless. We are very grateful for the support we have had so far and looking forward to the journey ahead.”
Hector’s House Cat Rescue
Charities – winner 1
“We are very grateful to RGB and everyone who voted for us. As a small charity, we are fully reliant on the donations of our supporters to ensure we can continue to do the work we do. The £1,000 will really make a difference to us and we’re ready to get started on the project.”
West Cornwall Search & Rescue
Charities – winner 2
“We are very grateful to RGB and everyone who voted for us. As a small charity, these funds will make a big difference to our work and the team can’t wait to get stuck into the project, which will transform how we store and manage our lifesaving equipment."
Bridgerule Primary School
Open Category – winner 1
“We’re delighted to have been voted as a Surprise Supplies winner and thank you to every parent and member of our community who voted for us, and to RGB for the donation. The new area of garden will be an important part of our school and we have a group of parents who are on standby and ready to help bring it to life – we’re excited to get started with the project.”
Woodside Animal Welfare Trust
Open Category – winner 2
“We are so very grateful for the support. Being a sanctuary that takes 19 different species of animals, we very often have to repair pens and fencing, especially those made of wood. This is a constant strain, but is essential as these animals need our help, and few sanctuaries take them due to the funds needed. To know that we now have the ability to ask RGB for help is a real lifesaver, especially after the worry that Covid 19 brought us. Thank you so much to RGB and all who voted for us.”
